Is there such thing as a "Hit Man"?
I have always wondered; in real life,outside of movies,is there’s such thing as a real hit man. When is the last time you heard of someone being assassinated by a professional hit man ?

They do indeed exist.
Oh yes .. not only hit men related to Mafia type killings, but regular people hire others to kill for them—contract killings
yes, they are real. I bet there are more under cover hit men, than actual real ones though

Yeah, they subsist somewhere at the lowest strata of society. But hey, at least they got a job right, they also earn very good money working for the Central Intelligence Agency.

@Arisztid Sometimes I wonder if the guy I know isn’t completely retired. I wouldn’t doubt it. I see him all the time, and he’s told me many stories, but something tells me he wouldn’t be closed-minded to taking a hit again if the opportunity arises.
@mammal I am not going to say who my friend’s employer was (I really did not know myself, just generally) but it, by the time I knew him, was an occasional job and he held a respectable position in the community along with a very good main job. He learned the basis of his craft in the military.
That is all I am going to say.

@Vunessuh It would not surprise me. My friend only alluded to it and occasionally had to go “out of town.”

@Violet Not a clue. My friend did not talk much about it. He just told me enough to know that it was his profession back in the ‘day and he still occasionally took a contract.
I do not have any stories to tell either because, as I said, he did not talk much about it.

My friend never took a hit without doing his research. He never hit an innocent witness for example.
He took out scum. The type of scum that rapes and kills a man’s 13 year old daughter and leaves her body behind a dumpster.
To which he calls it, ‘healing the wound in Buddha.’
@Violet Oh dear. I would never trust a contract killing company that actually has a website advertising their services. Lulz. That is, if you’re actually interested in squashing someone.
That’s just not how it works.

Why would one stay friends with a person who kills for money? Is it kewl somehow?

In South Africa hit men works for something like 200 dollars a hit. A famous hit man was shot last week. In the Cape flats near Cape Town South Africa can you hire a hit man for under 200 dollars, but they are all members of gangs. @Vunessuh will you please tell me how can I get hold of your hit man friend, theres a few African Leaders I would like to get rid of. That would be a great humanitarian service if we could get rid of Robert Mugabe, Julluis Malema and I got a whole list of South African politicians who is very corrupt. Some of them stole millions from the poor, some even got away with murder.
@antimatter It would feel good I agree, but dealing with problems that way is what put Africa in the gutter in the first place.
No I don’t agree, Africans in general will always be in the gutter, it’s our culture that when some one is in power they will always abuse that power and that person in power will exploit the people of his country or the chief of a village will exploit the villagers. They cheat, they murder, they lie and do unthinkable things CNN does not even show. Africans are than brain washed to think that the dictator, chief or leader is right and they intimidate others who don’t agree with them in ways you can’t imagine. Africans are in the gutters because they think that the whole world owes them something, and Africans in Africa believes everything should be given to them, how do you think the ANC in South Africa keeps on winning their elections? By giving and giving and promising white commercial farms to smaller unexperienced African farmers. A week before the South African elections they paid four hundred and eighty thousand people to vote for them. In Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe is taking all the white farms and gave it to the military vets, and none of those farms have produced yet. So @Jacket I think we need a hit man to sort out these crazy leaders for once and all!
One of my uni acquaintances was taken out by a couple of hit men in Atlantic City in 1994. He had been a grad student in mathematics. And his degree was being paid for, it turns out, by the Russian mob, who he tried to cheat, and who subsequently abducted him and had him killed when he came to visit relatives in Brighton Beach. They found him hogtied and shot in the head at some grotty hot-sheet motel a few blocks from the boardwalk.
It’s always a shock to read about your friends in the tabloids, isn’t it? Specially when they’ve been murdered.
Some people have no scruples when it comes to money,so if the price is right they will commit murder.In the UK husbands and wives have paid someone to kill their spouse and one only last year.

I was just watching MSNBC about the hitman and mafia of South Boston, they seemed to have been out there.
I live in NYC and i bet the Hudsons full of bodies :).
I would suspect that anyone who claims to be one is probably not, unless he is suicidal.
Thanks everyone ! I know the mob has hitman that wack people but I always wondered if there were CIA type assassins,I heard of people getting wacked by the mob but never of a powerful rich person being assassinated by a “Jason Bourne” type assassin !
