How do I motivate myself to finish a bunch of homework?
I’ve got a ton of homework to do. The questions are confusing and it will just be a lot of work. However I would like to work really hard to get this done within a couple of days but instead of motivating myself to do work I get on fluther and read all the questions. What do you recommend?

Disconnecting your internet. Then when you’re finished you can turn it back on.
I always say .. get the tough stuff out of the way by thinking about the good stuff you can do when you’re done!! Plus, the longer you put it off, the more stressed you’re going to be about it. Just get it over with!!
Well since I’ve been in this situation a lot in the past few months, I can definitely recommend taking everything in short bits. In other words work hard for 15 minutes then stop for a couple of minutes then start again for 15 minutes and on and on until you become exhausted. This is basically all I did when I was in your situation and it worked fairly well. Everyone now and then I slacked off but I got back to working and I kept thinking about the great holiday break I was about to recieve. So that helped tremendously.
So basically my two big suggestions to you is to use your time wisely and stay positive. :)
Go to your school library and do the work there. Without the distractions you have at home, you’d be surprised how much you can get done, and quickly. Whenever I have a bit of homework I’m dreading, I take 3 or 4 hours and go somewhere without distractions, and just get it done.
You will be so much happier if you get started on it now instead of procrastinating. We’ll all be here when you get back.
PSSSTTT Doing your homework is part of the induction process as a Fluther member. We’re all closet geeks.
“baby steps count as long as they are forward” – Chris Gardner. The thing is you’re approaching the work from the wrong perspective. If you look at the amount of work as a whole, of course it will appear to be a daunting task. What you have to do is break it down
