Does anyone know any more accent puns? (See details)

Asked by sliceswiththings (11723points) December 28th, 2009

I recently discovered that if you say “beer can” with a British accent you’re also saying “bacon” with a Jamaican accent.

Then someone told me to say “Whale oil beef hooked,” which sounds like a certain phrase said with an Irish accent.

There must me more of these out there, anyone know any?

I don’t. But I have this joke:
A wealthy Texan was thinking of moving up to New York so he went around with a real estate agent looking for a house.
After turning down many houses the real estate agent brought the Texan to another house and said, “And here is a house without a flaw!”
The Texan said, “Without a flaw? What y’all walk on, then?”

LMFAO at the oirish bit!...hahaha

When I was a lad in primary school we always used to put 1 finger in each cheek, pull them to the side and say “my dads a banker and he banks all day” lol

Tho I think the bacon thing would be in a jamaican accent??

There’s a nifty website dedicated to the bacon/beer can phenomena (Flash required).

Are these really puns? Aren’t they just homophones?

@Pazza: some Americans don’t know about wankers. Or wanking. We’re really innocent
