Do you find that when people put on a bit of weight, it makes them look younger, older or there's no difference?

I’m taking just a bit, not obese.

Older. Case in point: Note how the people that are contestants on Survivor begin to look much younger as they shed their weight during the course of the season.

Older. Unless it’s a little kid, then younger.

I disagree with @SirGoofy. I think they look older.

Some teenagers, I think, start to look younger when they gain say 10 -15 pounds.

I wonder, though..more weight smooths out the wrinkles…..

I’m trying to remember where I’d read this remark that people who are obese uniformly look to be about 42 years old. Someone said this in regard to the late Christopher Wallace (The Notorious B.I.G.) and the fact that his bulk made him seem and appear to be much older than his then-23 years.

It depends on when it’s a boy or a girl, age, previous weight and how much “a bit” is.

Fat smooths out the wrinkles. Younger.

I’m going to say older… until… they reach the wrinkley age… then younger.

Eh when it’s too much fat actually creates eh… not “wrinkles”, but Michelin-bands

I think older.

Makes ‘em look fatter.

People always think I’m a lot younger than I am. I say its because my chub fills out the wrinkles.

Younger.

When you go to a plastic surgeon to have wrinkles softened they inject them with fat or fake fat. I prefer to do it myself, the old fashioned super-size me way.

When I lost some weight recently I was appalled to see so many more wrinkles! I had to drown my despair with a large chocolate shake.

@Merriment – ga, I love the way your head works.

I would say older, at least at my age (50s). That “spare tire” is a dead giveaway of aging, especially with athletic types.

@rooeytoo Thank you very much :)

I think people look younger, especially when they have sort of chubby baby faces.

My husband says I look older when I gain weight (obviously have gained quite a bit recently). I think I look younger. That may be wishful thinking though lol
