I am going to be making a big camera purchase, and just curious to see if anyone has either of these camera. I am thinking about purchasing either Canon 5D Mrk2 or a Nikon D700. Do you have one? Why did you choose it? Has it served you well?

No but historically I have owned a variety of different SLR and digital cameras and for value, quality and ease of use, Canon is the way to go unless you’re going to the next level of something like a Hasselblad.
Nikon camera… Canon lens.
@Tomfafa ya thats what I see lol, maybe they should join forces
It could be the other way around… I decided just being ready was important, so I got a good pocket camera and keep it with me always.
I have a Canon DSLR. I love it ever so much. Can’t comment on the Nikon, but what I’ve heard is that they are both excellent with the differences coming down mainly to user preference.
“Canons are the best cameras available designed by engineers, and Nikons are the best cameras one can buy designed by photographers.”
In the end it is a decision you’re going to have to make yourself. I myself prefer Canons as they tend to be cheaper in price such as lens & body and you get the same thing, but some of the stuff Nikon make are amazing.
PS: I love my Canon XSI and the lens they make
