Knitters, what's the longest you've ever left a project and eventually finished it?
I just finished some mittens that had been sitting around for months with done everything except the last thumb. Whew!
What project took you the longest to come back to? Why did you leave it so long?

I was knitting a gorgeous [to me] basket weave sweater in 6 colors. I don’t remember why I stopped, but when I picked it up again I had no clue what row I left at. This is 15 or more years ago, but I keep it! Someday I’ll start knitting the front and be able to tell. I have 3 sweaters on the go now, had to wash the half -done cream colored one because it was filthy from dust! bad, bad, bad
I have not yet finished the unfinished projects I have. Usually they get put aside because I came to a part of the instructions I didn’t understand, ran out of yarn, or found something else I would rather do.
I knit houseshoes, it’s the ONLY thing I know how to make. I started a pair back in Sept. set it down and didn’t pick it up till Dec. to finish it.
Years and years and still counting.
Also, when my grandma died, I inherited her half-knitted stuff. That’s what I need, right? More of them.
I started knitting a scarf a few years ago and have decided it’s time to finish it.
Not knitting, but I started sewing a maternity dress when I was pregnant in 1973 and haven’t finished it yet. But, my son is now 36 so I guess I can forget about it now!! :)
I started a quilt for my son while pregnant as well:D I finally threw it out a couple of years ago. I’d been telling myself I’d finish it for freinds’ babies. My son is soon 29.
@faye I guess we meant well! My first grandchild was born in August .. I should have finished that dress for my daughter-in-law. Vintage maternity wear!! :)
