Would you rather have one wish granted today or three wishes granted in 10 years?

Three wishes in ten years. I’m all about delayed gratification. Also, I don’t need much right now but in ten years, I will probably have much diminished health, earning capacity, mental ability.

@Cruiser yoga and tattoo studio? lol, I love that. and I wouldn’t wish for all that, anyway. I just think that it’s better to wait for a desperate situation which might arise than to waste a wish now

I’d wait, only because I don’t think there’s anything I’m in too much want of right now. I’m only 19, my parents are still paying my way through college and, honestly, I’m not an independent individual (financially). I’d want to wait 10 years, at least then, I think I may have more need for 3 wishes. And, I think I would be wishing for material things because here’s to hoping I’ll be as happy then as I am now.

Today. I know exactly what it would be and after that I’d have no need for the other 3 since that one wish could eventually get me every other thing I probably would’ve wished for. Soooo…. yep, today….... yep…. any moment now…..

@Simone_De_Beauvoir haha, didn’t even cross my mind, but my wish could eventually lead me to that if that’s what I really wanted. ;) besides, I’d be sleeping around that time anyway. I work graveyard. Currently I haven’t been to sleep yet.

Granted, if I ever get my wish….... so, @Cruiser am I to believe that there’s no wishes being granted today? :P

I am the Mother of an Autistic young Man . I pray daily for a cure . That would be my wish .
I also wish to move by his school so when he finishes school in the near future he can remain in their programs. NYC and state do not have appropriate programs .
I am so tried of people who know much less than me attempting to BS me.
I would need to win Lotto to move there.
I would like away to make the fascist comprehend the Scientific facts of research. They do not even listen to Nancy Regan.

3 wishes in 10 years. Assuming i’ll live that long, i’m pretty sure that I would find more need for them and have thought through what the wishes will be long enough. And couldn’t one of the wishes be to return to my life 10 years prior with all the knowledge I gained in those 10 years?

Of course it probably wouldn’t take that much thinking about the other two – money and true love if I hadn’t already foudn it :D

Is it that you can have one now. Or when you hit the 10 year mark you can have 3 wishes.

Or is it over the course of 10 years you can have three wishes? If that being the case. How long do you have to wait to have wish #1? Might be worth waiting, so you can have the three.

I’m young, I have so many opportunities open to me right now, so I think I’d like to see how far I can get on my own. If it doesn’t work, then hell in 10 years I’ll make it work! Then I’ll have two wishes left over to assist humanity.

If I had one wish right now I’d be torn. Making decisions about huge sums of money, or that involve the entirety of humanity, or both, can surely only benefit from experience and knowledge.

@iphigeneia For me it is a toughy…as all the wishes or money today could not provide a cure for a terminal illness me or a loved one may have 10 years from now….

Three wishes over the next 10 years will work fine for me. Just let me know when I’ll be able to use them.

Generally, I am very good at delayed gratification for a bigger pay off, but I am with the bird in the hand people on this one, although it is a tough decision for me. If I were younger and in great health, I think I would have picked waiting 10 years for 3 wishes. At this point in my life I would take the one wish now.

Wishes can be tricky. If you wish for the obvious like peace on earth, the only way that might be possible is to rid the earth of human beings so you pretty much have to stick to small manageable wishes. Why not wish for a daily wish for the rest of your life and if that is out of bounds how about wishing for the ability to make one person’s life better every day.

100 million today is better than a billion in 10 years for me personally. With that said, who knows what might happen in 10 years. I will know I will always have my 3 wishes waiting for me in 10 years time so wouldn’t worry about saving for finanacial security now.

My partner might die and I could wish him back alive, as per Mum or Shpanky (my precious doggie). I could loose the use of my legs and wish them to begin working again… etc etc.

much better to have one wish granted today because you don’t know what the next ten years will bring – people can die and the three wishes could not bring that back, no matter if you did wish them back to life

I’d rather have one wish now because I would just wish that whatever wish I made would be granted in the way I want it granted. If you have 1 wish (whatever that wish is would be granted), that’s equivalent to infinite wishes.

In other words, there isn’t really a difference between 1 wish and 3 wishes.
