Hey Aussies are offices there closed today?

I think it varies from office to office. In NZ, this is the case and quite a few organisations (including government departments) have closed between Christmas in New Years.

Call centres and certain types of companies open between the holidays for:

29, 30, 31 December this year.

I haven’t been out yet today, but I think most shops will be open. Only really small ones have been closed between Christmas and New Years, most have been open from the 27th.

Many government departments have been taking “picnic days” at random times, and many smaller privately run businesses have closed until after New Year. The larger ones are open here in Sydney.
