Why do we wait until New Years to make resolutions?
Why New Years? Because a new year signifies new beginnings and new chances? Do we really have to wait until the new year? Shouldn’t we be open to making resolutions any time of the year, since each day is a new day?
What do you think? When do YOU make YOUR resolutions?

Actually, I make resolutions all year long, which is why I rarely make formal resolutions at New Years. However, for a lot of people New Years represents a new beginning, where previous failures are wiped away, and you have a chance to start over.
In order to really be happy and avoid disappointments, my new year resolution will be to have none!
:)
I’m up for breaking resolutions 24/7/365.
An excuse for procrastination/ a lack of will to make a sudden change.
My only resolution for 2010 was implemented 3 days early.
It’s the only time of the year you won’t get called for lyin’ through your teeth.
It’s a fresh new year, and it feels like we can make a fresh new start. =D
For New Year it’s a resolution.
For every other day it’s called “Making up your damned mind to do something.”
We are procrastinators, by and large. When you feel moved to change for the better, then do so.
We always say we’ll start dieting, quit smoking and drinking and read a good book tomorrow. This was a great Question, @Qwertymuffin411 – and just reminded us about what @Dr_Lawrence and the others have said before me.
I say most of us procrastinate by nature anyway; a New Year’s resolution is simply official.
;-)
I have always felt that when I want to make a positive change in my life, I will endeavour to do so. When asked if I have any New Year resolution, I always say “No”.
I can understand how people feel like a new year = a fresh start though but for some reason, it is just another day for me. Any time is a good time to improve oneself, grow, learn and be challenged.
