Why do you think humans are so replusive and cringe to the noise of fingernails scratching on a chalkboard?

I have looked into it a little bit and some theories are that the sound may have signaled a predator for our ancestors. Personally the noise does not get to me, but I know a lot of people who cringe when the sound is made. What are your thoughts?
