I got sick and now I am in financial trouble?

more importantly, know that you are a human being and as such you have immeasurable value. No one can take this from you.

I went through the same thing a couple of years ago, only I was much further behind than one month. I’m still playing catch up. I didn’t say anything to anyone for awhile but then they did the same thing (calling even though my scheduled payment wasn’t for a few days, etc) and finally I just told them “I had a nervous breakdown and nothing was paid. I am now trying to get back on track. These phone calls are not helping they are in fact harassment. If you do not cease and desist I will report you to <whatever business/government agency>”

My suggestion would be to find out what agency handles harassment phone calls and see if the ones you are receiving qualify as harassment.

@patg7590 I can’t file for bankruptcy because of the line of work I am in. It would have huge repercussions I also live alone and have to earn money I can’t rely on anyone else I just need to pay my bills and debts

If Consumer Credit Counseling exists in S. Africa, they may be able to get your interest rates reduced so you can pay off you debts and restore your credit.
