Do you acknowledge courteous drivers who let you in?

The parking lot where I work exits onto a freeway off-ramp;(feeders, they’re called here) It is always packed with traffic when I try to get out of the lot. Someone will ALWAYS let me in; I always make a point of acknowledging them with a wave of thanks. Sometimes they will respond, sometimes not.
When the situation is reversed, I will always let someone in as well, (Seems totally logical to me) But often they will not give any sign at all. It is not a really big deal, but I notice it, and it makes me happier when they do acknowledge.
So how about you; do you wave, or do you feel this is just a obvious thing that needs no acknowledgement?
