I sweat like crazy….as my dear old Mom say’s, I’m sweating tacks” whatever that is. But, yes, I am always warm.

This is very common in teenage girls. I started using a deodorant with baby powder way back then and they still have Suave with baby powder deodorant. It helps absorb the smell.

Have you tried Dove’s Clinical Protection deodorant?

You might want to see a dr. to rule out any underlying issue or to find out if your sweating is abnormal.
It also sounds like you might be having some kind of reaction to your deodorant. Have you tried different brands? Do you put it on right after you shave your underarms?
Chances are decent that aside from maybe a reaction to your deodorant that you’re just a very normal self-conscious teenager. :)

Obviously you’re concerned about this, so my first response is “talk to your doctor”. Have your mother make an appointment for you with your family doctor, if you have one. If you don’t have one, or if money is an issue, talk to the school nurse, who will have seen nearly anything you can present to her, and can make further recommendations if warranted.

But my second response is… I think a big component of this is normal teenage angst. I’ve been there and felt that, and my memory is good enough to recall some of the things that I was self-conscious about at your age. So the second part of my answer is that if you maintain good hygiene (daily showers and cleansing with some kind of soap), then your perspiration will not generally be offensive.

You said (two times) about “feeling the smell”. I think this is part of your (normal) anxiety. That is, you can obviously feel the wetness of perspiration, and you may be likely to think that “it smells”. (The deodorant advertisements are really effective at making you feel this way.)

When I coached teenage boys on soccer teams and we got together in groups at the ends of practices and games, or in huddles on the sidelines during a game—and these boys were dripping sweat—I can’t recall even one time in several years of doing this that I smelled anything offensive.

So try this. Do something strenuous that makes you sweat: take a fast walk in the sun, or run for awhile. Really work up a sweat. Then ask a close girlfriend to spend some time near you and tell you honestly if you smell bad. I’m betting that you don’t, and if she can convince you—even if you’re dripping with sweat—that she can’t smell anything, this may help to put to rest some of your anxiety.

And if you do have an odor that you or others find offensive, many times that can be traced to diet. So pay attention to what you eat, and try to cut out things like garlic, that can affect body odor. It might also help to cut down on makeup, so that more of your skin (your face, primarily) is exposed to air, which can cut down perspiration elsewhere.

I have been dealing with hyper-hydrosis since adolescence. I vividly remember being horrified by the huge sweat stains I had on all of my shirts! Grown ups I knew told me that I would grow out of it, but I am still waiting! Anyway, Soft & Dri deodorant worked the best for me, you might also try Mitchum.

I like @CyanoticWasp‘s idea of seeing a doctor for a couple of reasons. First, you can be sure that these is nothing going on and second if it is hyper-hydrosisis you can get a prescription deodorant that will take care of the problem.

@SuperMouse I used soft and dri also, but they have stopped selling/making it here.

I had the problem for decades; I found that a paste of baking soda and water was moderately helpful. After menopause, I sweat only on my head. Face gets wet and drippy as does hair. It’s very odd but I prefer that to the big wet underarm stains. And it happens only when I get nervous, such as when downloading something on computer or trying to cut Milo’s nails.

I always get sweaty if I’m nervous and/or self -conscious and I remember being plenty self-conscious at 15. There used to be anti-perspirants made like Mitchum that stunned your pits into subsiding for a day. My son uses one of the antii-persperant ‘stones’.

@Thesexier- @gailcalled is the resident friendly spelling police (which, by the way @gailcalled, I deffiantley love about you :) ). “Definitely” seems to be an especially hard word for some people to spell, and the possibilities for screwing it up are apparently endless.
