Are cats really afraid of plastic water bottles?
I was watching an anime (Sumomomo Momomo) and the main character said that in his neighborhood, they would put plastic bottles around to keep stray cats away. I’ve never seen or heard of this… is there any truth in it at all? It sounds a bit far-fetched.

They don’t shit or piss near clean sources of water.
This is common to keep cats away.
My neighbours do it anyway to keep cats out of their tree. Don’t know if it works or not
It was said in cartoon so you think it might be true? What else happens in that show that you think might be true?
Personally, I’ve never known a cat that was afraid of water bottles.
I’ve had many cat’s and no.
I wasn’t trying to be harsh. It was more of a joke. Sorry.
@tinyfaery ; no, I’m sorry. I should’ve realized that. ^^;
Anime is retarded.
That said, soda pop cans full of pennies-cats hate.
I think it would depend how hard you hit the cat with the plastic bottle…..........
No but they might steal the bottles to get the return!!
Well, probably not the bottle just sitting there on it’s own. My friend did use a spray bottle to “train” her cat. When the cat tried to claw the couches as opposed to her scratch post, the cat would get a quick spritz from the water bottle.
At first yes! I use to have a cat that was afraid of water bottles, especially the one’s that make so much noise. My cat was really scared when I first started showing him the water bottle while I use to make noises with it but then after like the hundredth time – he got use to it and would ignore it.
my cats get mad for some reason
I have never heard of that. Maybe
I do know my dad has a dog that is scared of just about everything. Like cellphones, or clapping, or it seems like everything lol
I wish! That’d be so nice, I’d have water bottles as furniture decor lol
