With much discussion in the blogosphere about the upcoming Apple Tablet, one can’t help but wonder, would people buy it? How much would you pay for it? And what would you use it for?

Steve Jobs recommended that I surf the Internet in the bathroom with his non-existent tablet. So I’m looking forward to that.
It is supposed to be the size of a magazine and it will have a built-in iphone ?? I hope it comes with an ear piece otherwise people are gonna look pretty silly holding it up to their face!!
@gtreyger Wow that looks pretty darn good. Don’t like the name though. It’s kind of like a mini netbook but without the keyboard.
Oh wow, that looks nice! I think it would be used like a new generation of Mac’s. The price shouldn’t be more than one either.
I’d pay $500 to $1000 for it depending on it’s capabilitites.
I hope it’s a WiFi only device. As much a price reduction (due to presumedly an AT&T subsidy) would be nice. I have no interest in paying another monthly data fee on top of my iPhone (I don’t think the tablet will have phone capabilities).
Here’s my wishlist:
• eBook reader (a la Kindle) – but able to handle dynamic color graphics and embedded video/flash content. Time Inc. built a prototype issue of Sports Illustrated that demonstrates this type of content that was amazing.
• Web Browsing via not only Safari, but the ability to load any other web browser you want.
• Access to all Apps currently available at the iTunes App store.
• For that matter, access to all iTunes content.
• Full synch capabilities with your “home” computer (via Mobile Me no doubt); including contacts, adresses, bookmarks, etc.
• The ability to run full versions of iWork software. I’d love full versions of all software, but then it’d be a laptop – so I’d settle for at least iWork editing.
I’m sure whatever it does in the end it’ll fit neatly between The iPhone and the MacBook in the product line. I’d love to be able to run logic (or at least a version of logic, that maybe connects to my MacBook)
Can’t say until it comes out, if it ever does.
I don’t think Steve would let it be released unless there was a clear fit for it between the iPhone and MacBook and it’ll probably blow away people’s guesses like the iPhone did when it came out. Really no point in guessing what it is going to be like.
