Have you made some unexpected and welcome connections here?
I recently got a PM from a guy who discovered, via Google fluther answers, that his mother and I are second cousins. Her grandmother was my Finkel grandfather’s sister. We are now reconnecting and learning new info about the family back in Lithuania in the 1888’s. Remarkable.

I found Allie. That is about it.
@gailcalled Thats incredible. What an arrangement! Do you plan on meeting each other? I think this is just so wonderful. I’ve always wanted to find out more about my family. Way to go! :)
When the winter here finally ends (in two or three years), we’re going to try. Now I am about to send her a 95 page copy of my grandfather’s autobiography, which starts with his birth, in 1871, in Serey, Lithuania.
My sis and I are neighbors, and are both about 2 hrs from NYC. This woman lives in Manhattan, so we will will figure something out.
@gailcalled That is so great! I’m really happy for you guys. I hope everything turns out well for you all. :) And keep us updated if you can. I think that reconnecting with long lost family members is fantastic. And to think you find them on Fluther….. :)
I have made much more connections here than on my old site, and that was unexpected.
I’d love to get to know some of you better.
If any of you feel the same, I am Lawrence Erdile on Facebook
