I live in a constant state of "fright or flight" how do I change this?
I worry about everything. I worry about mostly financial issues, but now I have added lots of new worries to my habit which I wont mention for now. I have had reason to worry, but in a way worry does not solve a problem ultimately.
How do I change this habit? Some might call it generalized anxiety and they could be right, but either way I need tips to stop it.

Step back…and breathe.
A long hot bath always helps. Take a break from reading the news. Count your blessings and write them down. Think of those worse off then yourself. Talk it over with someone. Throw yourself into your chores. Push yourself in your favorite hobby. Remember victories in your life. Each morning, think of something good to do that day. Take a walk…get it off your mind somehow.
If there is something you can do to ease the worry, then do so. For example, if you are worried about a bill, call the company and work something out.
I was in the same boat recently. You just have to stand up to your inner demons and say enough is enough. You need to stay standing no matter how painful it is. Otherwise, those worries will just keep runnin’ free.
EVERYTHING Spine suggests… plus… don’t isolate yourself. Spend time with friends. Always helps to get outside yourself.
Surrender control. If you have no control over something, than don’t worry about it. Worrying isn’t going to do a darn thing. If its something you can remedy than work at fixing it the best you can and don’t worry about the rest because that part is out of your control.
Breathe. You are not your worries. They are temporary situations. Remember, you’ve made it this far, so how can you be so unable to handle life that you spend time worrying? Be grateful for what you do have and breathe.
If you are constantly worried and anxious to the point in which it impacts your life, then consider seeing a doctor and getting an SSRI for anxiety.
Or you could try Calms Forte, an herbal anti-anxiety medication that you can get at almost any drugstore.
“How do I change this habit? ”
One step at a time. SHUT IT OFF. STOP IT NOW!
If you cant fix it today. Let it go.
Tomorrow is another day.
