If you were to die and be reincarnated (remembering everything from your previous life), what would you do different this time knowing that after death is reincarnation?
Assuming you didn’t come back as a rat or a deep sea fish of some kind.

I think self control would be the hardest part.
One example would be sex. I mean for the first 13ish years having to avoid sex. That would drive me insane.
I guess it would depend if I was a boy or a girl?
But I’d probably make all the same mistakes all over again.
but imagine being a 2 month old baby remembering a whole other life! Yikes
I think my exact reaction would be “Son of a B****! I’ve got to do this s** again!?!”
A few days later I would probably dedicate myself to finding more knowledge. And I kinda have to agree with @ChazMaz , I wouldn’t be so concerned with sex, but waiting for a ciggie would drive me crazy!
I would seriously try to make the most of all my new opportunities, and not let time slip away.
I really wouldn’t mind being reincarnated as a deep sea fish.
@SarasWhimsy – Yep, another example of it probably driving you insane by the time you hit age of consent.
Wanting to get out. Have an opinion and be respected.
All things you would have to take a back seat for some time.
Besides all the wonderful vices we have come to enjoy.
I would not like having a knowledge of a prior life. Such knowledge might cause me either to do the opposite of what I did or exacftly the same, in which in either case I mind wind up in worse shape than the first time.
@SarasWhimsy XD Had to laugh at that one. Personally I would love it.. especially knowing all the things I could do better. It would be much like groundhog day.. only.. groundhog life!
attack teachers that brainwashed us all when we didn’t know anything at all using good stable arguments making my classmate thing for themselves and the teacher resign
all i would want would be to live my childhood over, mostly the same, with maybe a few bits of change, like build more and create more, and wander more..
Well clearly I would get a lot more things right. I would do very well in school and get myself a top notch education and become a world renowned scientist, though whether physicist, biologist, geographer, or mathematician would be determined while getting my masters. Other than that, nothing really different.
I would do the opposite of all the bad decisions I’ve made, hopefully that would make life better. If I still screwed up, well, I guess I would still get another chance.
@NaturalMineralWater Just knowing reincarnation existed would be pretty meaningless in and of itself. It wouldn’t change how I live, and there would be no point in trying to defeat it. I would just be making decisions with the knowledge and wisdom I have now instead of what I had when I was 18. That would mean I would become a scientist.
I would study more in school. I also would take better care of my health. I would be much more self assured as a teenager, and not have some of the fears I had when I was younger. I would be more curious.
If I died before my husband and remembered being married to him it would be very difficult I think to not be with him or other family members. That would be odd.
@Snarp Fair enough
@JLeslie I guess that whole husband part would be good then if it worked out like the movie
“What dreams may come”.
It would depend a great deal on what form I was reincarnated to the last time.
@Thomas0620 Let’s say another human being. not a rat or a deep sea fish or anything..
I don’t know what I would do, specifically, but I sure as hell know what I wouldn’t do.
>_>
guess it depends on if there’s any karma involved, bc if there’s a chance of coming back as a naked mole rat or a fly or some such thing I’ve got to say I’d go out of my way to avoid such a fate. On the other hand, presuming human begets human and karma isn’t involved I’d certainly take a much longer view of ecological, social, and economic issues. After all if you have a countless number of lifetimes and consistent memory/personality with each you can take on things that go far beyond anything even dreamed of today. Projects, philosophies, and explorations that would take tens or even hundreds of thousands of years to architect would be achievable as death would become little more than a nuisance.
A little off topic, but a thought just occurred to me:
What do you think would happen if a person would remember every lifetime before the present after being reborn? Would they dedicate themselves to something constructive, such as deciphering the mysteries of the universe, or on the other end of the spectrum, eventually tire of life and attempt to end mankind in order to end what is essentially their immortality?
I would kill myself, and continuously do so until I forgot or until the end of time
@LocoLuke Perhaps they would do just that.. which is why I asked @Snarp if he would use his scientific prowess for that very thing.
@tyrantxseries That’s a gloomy outlook. Thank God no one really reincarnates that I know of.
I wouldn’t marry my first wife again. And I’d pursue a college education much more vigorously after I graduated high school. Oh, and I’d completely reconsider that one time cross-dressing incident that went horribly wrong. In fact, let’s forget about that all together.
@Bluefreedom Nah, let’s not forget about the incident. Do tell. XD
@NaturalMineralWater. Someday I’m going to totally open up about it and face my inner demons (or fantasies). Maybe right here on Fluther. =)
@Bluefreedom Well I can only hope it’s tomorrow at the latest. XD
