I want to know how many 1957 Chevys are still registered in the USA. How do I find out?

Asked by truemanbruce (3points) January 6th, 2010

I am restoring a 1957 Chevy 210 Delray Club Coupe. This is code 57–1011 body. 25,952 of these were made. Total car production for Chevy in 1957 was 1,561,655. Do you think there are still 156,166 of all 57 models still registered in the USA? That would be 10% survival. I wonder if the data base allows sorting by series number. Total production of all 210 series cars was 674,596. I wonder if 10% of these survived? The final sub-set is by specific model under the series – my Delray Club coupe represents 3.8% of the 210 series. The 210 series was 43% of all Chevy production for 1957. I wonder how specific we can be about survival, do we only have VINs to sort with? My VIN is VB57O103442. The B means 210 series. I would be happy to know how many 1957 210’s survive!!

Check the website for Hemmings Motor News – they may track that sort of statistic.

contact the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America (VCCA) they have experts for each year and often specific models in that year.
