Do you feel sinful when you read/watch porno magazine/movie?,how you deal with that?.

Asked by Your_Majesty (8238points) January 7th, 2010

some people know that isn’t allowed in their religion but still keep doing that consider their physical and biological needs,in the other side people must follow all the rules in their religion in order to live as a ‘good’ person, this might be a controversial issue for people who do both things and don’t know where should they be put in to,should we deny human’s nature or holiness path can’t get along with that?.

No, but I feel sorry for the people performing. They’re doing it for the money but this can adversely affect their later lives if they happen into a profession that values “respectability” regardless of whether that is justified or not. It’s too bad that people are tempted into this by short-term gain. It’s the marketers of this stuff that make the big bucks.

It’s not a sin. If there were a God He or She would want you to have sexual pleasure. The problem for me is that it is deadly boring.

Sinful? I’m more concerned with a late return to the video store.

I don’t believe in sin. So, I never feel sinful.

It’s not sinful in your own house with your S/O next to you saying “Lets go try that”...

so really it comes down to how do I justify doing something I believe is wrong but want to do anyway. seems to me you need to fundamentally adjust your beliefs or stand up and hold true to your ideals. you can only reconcile so much before the belief/ideal becomes hollow.

Sex is natural in my opinion and so is nakedness. I am forever puzzled as to why porno’s are so strongly demonised.

Each to their own I guess.

I am with Simone about that and @Rachienz . I don’t think there is anything wrong with porno or nakedness or sex

Sinful?

I think it was God who invented the boner.

@ChazMaz ; And when he saw “It” he went “OH GOD D_MN it’s Big!”... lol.

@stranger_in_a_strange_land It doesn’t necessarily have to be short term gain. Like if you were to use the $ for schooling or to open your own business

Only those people can really make this decision, they are choosing to stay religious, so they are choosing to place unnecessary guilt on themselves. People obviously don’t have to follow all their religious rules or children wouldn’t be molested by religious people…..Some just aren’t aware that hell, heaven, and sin are made up to control people so they let something as simple as looking at a magazine scare them into submission.

It all depends on which god happens to be the one of your choice. Some gods will send you to hell for masturbating, some find it sinful to have chrome on your car, others go a step further and find the internal combustion engine sinful, so whip your horse to get to town faster and then there is the god who gives you 40 virgins if you kill yourself and anyone else nearby. I think you get 42 if you do it by putting explosives in your underwear.

Do we think Mr. Walrus thinks he’s commiting a sin?

randomness's avatar

Nope, I don’t feel sinful at all. I doubt that’s the reaction porn is intended to produce….

Thank you so much for all of you for being honest and for sharing your opinion!,I really appreciate all of it (really).

No, why should I? I do feel sorry for people that do feel that way. To me, real pornography is the damage left after murderous attacks in Africa, 9–11 murders, and the harm done to women and children under the name of religion.

By the way, I think the bible should be rated R and should not be shown, in its entirety,to children. There is too much violence, murder, rape, and other disgusting behaviors for young minds.

why, it is not a sin – it might be a moral issue in one way or another, but not a religious one
