tranquille .. .une personne tranquille
silencieux(-euse), taciturne (“tranquille” implies calm)
Un homme silencieux; quelqu’un qui ne dit rien, un homme qui sait se taire.
On peut ĂȘtre calme et pourtant parler beaucoup.
Gerard Depardieu (such a fun French name to say. It’s the rolling of the “R’s”).
@jmah: I got the impression that Depardieu didn’t shut up for twenty years or so. He was in a movie every ten minutes.
@gailcalled I don’t care for him as an actor. And, I agree, he was everywhere for awhile (French and English speaking roles). Apparently, he is a sex symbol for some. I certainly don’t see it.
@jmah: In many roles he has a certain loutish sweetness that I find appealing.
Personne pudique. Or Sarkozy, not!
@ucme: Sorry. That makes no sense. Il n’y a personne means that “no one is there.”
“Pudique” means “modest.” And all poliiticians are expected to blab a lot.
@gailcalled They were two seperate answers. Bashful person is what I said. Check your translations. The polar opposite to Monsieur Sarkozy hence the irony in my second choice.
Mort, pronounce like more in English. It means dead.
