If you were chosen as an ambassador for your hometown, in what ways would you best serve the place of your birth?

How would you describe it to the rest of the world? Would you be a justifiable spokesperson for your community? What good would you serve? etc.

I would not be a good ambassador for the town of my birth, because I spent very little time there (was less than two years old when we lift).
I have been back as an adult, but I found it crowded and a lot touristy.
I would also serve as a crappy ambassador for the town I was born in. It’s a small little town that gives me the creeps every time I go back there to visit family. I hate it..
If I could be the ambassador for my community I live in now, I would tell people to come and live here. It’s a quaint little neighborhood in the SW of our city and it feels like such a tight knit urban community. We have great little shops, a huge park and some of the best restaurants the city has. It is called the Southwedge and our slogan is come and savor our flavor!!
I think I would be a pretty ambassador for my hometown, being that I’ve never lived anywhere else! My house would have to be one of the older (not anywhere close to old_est_, but old) homes in the town since it was built in the early seventies. My parents remember when this town was really “the sticks”. Now I just say that we live in the sticks. We have a whopping 8023 people. And that was back in 2000. Now we probably have, like…20,000 people. It’s a cute little town, but sometimes I wish we had more stuff. But hey, it’s better than it was in the seventies!!
To be honest, i already believe i am the ambassador for my city. i meet people everyday and attempt to tell them the good points of Nashville. it must be working, since so many people are moving here. i have lived here all my life, so i know my city pretty good.
A police officer is in an excellent position to be a big city ambassador.
lol @john65pennington. :)
In answer to the original question, I’d be a terrible ambassador for my hometown. If anyone asked for my opinion, I’d just say, “I’d turn back if I were you.” When I turned 18, I couldn’t wait to get out of there!
Amazing how many seem to come from a shitty town.
I did not spend much time in the town I was born in, but I would make a great ambassador, because I identify with them and their ideals.
I would be very honest and candid about what people would expect if they ever decided to visit my hometown. This might or might not have a positive impact on people’s impressions and whether they commit to a visit or not. If that makes me a poor spokesman and/or ambassador, so be it but at least I’ll sleep good at night knowing that my integrity is intact and that I’m not embellishing facts or misrepresenting anything in a fraudulent attempt to get others to visit my hometown under false pretenses.
