My graphing calculator has a permanent black mark on it (I'm guessing from the screen being pushed on in the bottom of my backpack). Is there any way to repair the black spot?

None that I know of. The easiest thing you could do outside of getting a new calculator would be getting a replacement screen panel. It probably wouldn’t be too expensive.
Alright, thank you anyways. Why does this happen and what is the reason for it happening? (besides pushing on it)? GA
@LeopardGecko Well, the ‘glass’ and the ‘ink’ inside of the screen just get pushed into each other. And the ink just spreads and stains. It’s ink, after all.
Oh really? I didn’t know that was ink in there. How does the ink display the numerical image? (Or send a link if it’s too long) I’m interested in knowing how it works.
Ok, well. Little sections of the ink are ‘activated’ by having a small electrical charge run through them. That’s pretty much it.
The ‘ink’ is a liquid crystals solution that when it is electrically charged does not allow light to pass through. That is how it can create pixels in the screen. The crystals are held between two panes of glass in a very thin layer. If the glass is cracked the crystals leak out and can make a black spot.
Just press 2nd and the arrow keys to change the brightness of the screen. I had the same problem, and this worked for me.
