Have you ever had a "pig-out" day?
Its 18 degrees outside, wind is blowing at 20 mph with snow. its one of those days when you just stay inside and try to keep warm. also, its one of those days that you eat everything in site or a “pig-out” day. is it from boredom or is my body really this hungry?

I had that day today. We had chinese food for lunch. In bed with some yummy coffee. And now we are having pizza and wings, still in bed, watching football. Busy week at work, so I’m refueling. And it’s 11 degrees outside.
That would be Saturday. And sometimes Sunday.
Last week. Remnants of the Christmas holidays (chocolate, baked goods, Swedish meatballs). Get in my bellay!
Eating healthy was supposed to start the next day. FAIL.
jmah, you made me laugh. great answer. john
Yes For the last few days I can’t leave my house because my driveway is covered in ice, but the roads are clear. I have ordered pizza the past two days. I was iffy about ordering from the same pizza place two nights in a row. It was papa johns yesterday and pizza hut today. I am doing it because of boredom. I also start my diet and work out program on Monday for the biggest loser at work. I’ve been justifying it by saying I’ll weigh more at my weigh in. Oh the things I tell myself to make it all okay.
I think it’s your body’s way of trying to stay warm.
Boredom and what @chyna said. Your internal temp goes up a little when you eat,
I recently had a bunch of pig out days in Vegas…too much food.
Pig out days in Vegas? you must have lost all your money and was really bored to have so many pig-out days? i just consumed a half package of oatmeal cookies and a diet coke. this has got to stop.
@john65pennington Well, I was not sitting around eating all day, but I ate a lot of food in that town. Too many large meals in a row. Does that not count? Are you only talking about noshing all day long on crap?
I understand the good and plentiful food to be had in Las Vegas. been there many times and i also have pigged-out there. its hard not to. i once had a piece of real New York cheesecake that would have knocked your socks off. it cost $2.35 and weighed at least one to two pounds. this was at Circus Circus. it was too much.
Uhm, literally every day.
@john65pennington I am still thinking about the meal I had at Rao (southern Italian at Caesars) delicious. The Italian food in Memphis, where I live, SUCKS!!! Forgive me for shouting. The Bellagio Buffet I really could have done without.
Bad food at the Bellagio Buffet…...hear hear! the regular Chef must have had the flu. the food there is always excellent.
I have them. Sometimes a couple in a row. Then I work out like crazy for a week, and eat really healthy. Then I have another bout. It’s cyclical. I think I’m winning the war though (not the tasty battles!). If good food is handy, I’ll be eating it.
I think you’re bored and hungry. Just go for it. You can work out later and burn the calories.
I had a major pig out day on Xmas day, make that the entire week of Xmas – I made egg nog truffles with brandy and they just melted in my mouth. I think boredom does make us pig out more. Sorry to hear about the freezing weather in the US, it’s made headline news here in Australia, it’s as hot as hell here, the cicadas (like a locust) are deafening, they sing during the heat.
@octopussy: cicadas (like a locust) are deafening, they sing during the heat That sounds wonderful. Makes me want to visit Australia.
Glad somebody on the planet is warm. good for you. love to hear the locust in the summertime here. they are a reminder that summer is in full swing. enjoy the heat. john in Nashville.
@octopussy I was just saying to a friend of mine we need to go to Australia to get warm. I wish you were closer. I guess I can go to south America also.
Has anyone ever been to Aruba? i burned like a french frie there.
@Siren.. Cicadas don’t sing like a bird unfortunately, it’s more like a buzzing noise – when they start up in the early mornings, it means that the day is going to be very hot.
@JLeslie.. Yes it’s such a long way to get here and for us to get to the US. I went to Hawaii a few years ago and absolutely loved it.
Sorry john65, I don’t mean to hijack your post but I can’t work out the whisper function.
No problem here at all. actually, i am glad all of us can at least talk to each other here. the chat room here has a few bugs to work out. feel free to talk away. you are the second person i have ever talked to in another country. the first, was a lady in England. the weather there is not better than here. glad to meet you.
I pigged out all day today. I worked a booth for my brother in law at a wedding expo. He’s a photographer and had a wedding to do today. During the fashion show, when no one was coming to my booth I sampled about eight cakes. They were small pieces, so I didn’t feel like I overdid it too much. Then I went to a catering booth and ate what they had-meat balls, queso dip, spinach articoke dip, dill cheese puffs. I had a big pretzel and cheese, hung out with one of the chocolate fountain ladies and sampled her chocolate and tried some barbeque at another booth. Needless to say, my gut was hurting when the show was over!
Well John I’ll have to teach you some of our Aussie slang one day, lol. You Yanks saved our asses in the war, some of us never forget. ;) I’ve liked every American I have ever met which isn’t many but I work with a lovely lady from Philly and she is so ballsy.
Today. Ugh. Trying to find something I can taste through the snot.
Sunday brunch used to be my designated day to eat whatever I want, the rest of the days were controlled portion and food type days.
