How do you add songs to an ipod without erasing the songs from a separate library?
we have ipod issues! My daughters all use different computers and different libraries and everything but they all have to use one computer (which is EXTREMELY slow!). They originally had their shared account on the slow computer where they download all of their songs. Then we got a new computer (but still use the old one) and when they tried to download songs from the new library on the new computer, they ended up erasing all of their old songs while downloading the new songs! what happened?? is there anyway we can download songs from two libraries?? HELP!! btw we have DELL computers, ipod nanos, and a slightly older version of itunes (the one that came before the most recent update) if any of this helps

The software assumes that a new library means a new song selection. The purpose of erasing old is to make room for new. Its not a glitch, but the way Apple designed iTunes.
Option 1. Load all of the songs from the old computer to one of the ipods. Then download iDump to the new computer and use this free software to move old computer’s songs from the ipod to the new computer. Add the newly imported songs to iTunes.
@mollypop51797 you can infact download songs from two libraries but you have to click “Manually manage songs” in one of the iPod settings.
So you have to drag songs into iPod everytime you want to add more. See how that goes for you
there is a new library, and when we want to sync songs, it says all files and songs from existing libraries will be erased and replaced with the current files. What is that supposed to mean? How am I able to keep songs and add songs from different libraries? is it possible??
@shumone – I didn’t know you can have an iPod married to more than one library??? I could never get that to happen. @Spinel suggests the method I would use. Get all music on one computer, in one library. Once you do that it should all be easy.
