How do i stop this Blue Screen Of Death?
I recently purchased GTA 4 for the PC and was able to play the game just fine. I have a pretty good system, running a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT (i have updated drivers).
I got to a certain point in the game that now when i load it up it makes my Display Drivers crash, everything on my monitor begins to pixelate and then i get a Blue Screen of Death – NVLDMDDK.SYS is the little file on the bottom of the BSOD that the message points out. Ive looked around google but most forums said to uninstall drivers and reinstall, which i did but im still getting this issue of the game stopping my Display Drivers.

Did you try uninstalling the drivers and going back a version?
I didnt try going back a version of drivers, though i just did read of a old driver being used for the game which is supposedly going to fix the issues. Only thing with that is, wont it effect my other pc games by using old drivers?
Torchlight also now crashed and when it kicked to desktop i saw the message saying “Display Driver stopped working but recovered”
Be careful about that blue screen of death: enough of those and it could start seriously damaging your hard drive. Call the company or check out their website and send them an email? Maybe they can help you. Or get it checked out with a computer techie.
You could be having a problem with the card, also. Sometimes when the cards overheat they’ll start causing weird bugs. Make sure the fan is working and isn’t crusted full of gunk. If it has a heatsink make sure there’s no dust between the fins.
I just cleaned my PC out when it started happening =\
Do you have one of the newer cards that needs another power lead? Did you plug it back in?
Oh, and I know this sounds silly but if you just cleaned it out check any empty slots you may have, including the memory slots, and make sure you don’t have a stray dust ball sitting in one. That’ll do some weird things, too.
