Why is it that on a phone or calculator the number five has a little dot on it?

So you know where the central key is so you can press them without looking.

So you can find the middle key and type blind. Just like the J and F have bumps on you keyboard.

yup yup..what they said. if its dark and your keys wont light up you can feel your way around and get to the middle in order to start typing.

So that blind people can orient themselves on the keypad.
