What kind of floor cleaner do you use with a floor buffer?

Asked by pikipupiba (1629points) January 12th, 2010

Our goal is to clean, not necessarily polish. We are using it on tile and concrete.

(my frat house is pretty dirty :/)

I have heard that Murphy’s Oil Soap is good on Hardwood floors.

I use Armstrong Once ‘n DoneĀ® No-Rinse Floor Cleaner Concentrate for routine cleaning of no-wax vinyl, ceramic, marble, granite, terrazzo, slate and stone floors. . . no rinsing required, leaves no dulling/sticky film, does not ceramic tile grout unlike other harsh cleaners.

I spill food on the tile floor and let the dogs lick it up. They really do a good job on the grout.

Several drops of dish soap (not too much!) on the mop and then pour boiling water from the kettle and mop an area, dry- boil more water and repeat in a dirty area till your done!

@phil196662 pouring boiling water runs the risk of cracking ceramic tiles. besides, the poster did mention the use of a floor buffer.

Your not pouring allot and your pouring it on the Mop, the water needs to hot enough to dissolve the crap on the floor. And I have Tile and have not had any problems.

@phil196662 ..oh, why do you have to pour on the mop? can’t you just use a bucket, fill it with hot soapy water and mop? . . ..BTW, they’re not mopping the floor, they’re going to use a floor buffer, an electric rotating brush I suppose, which will scrub the grime off the floor.

when you pour it on the mop you can put Enough to wet the mop and not have to Ring it out, only to go to the sink and rinse well.
