The one problem with any Volkswagen is that their reliability ratings are relatively low. We just sold my daughter’s VW because it was always in the shop.
We drive a Chevy Silverado pick up truck, and it has plenty of head room and lots of space to move the driver’s seat back. It is also the best-rated Chevy when it comes to reliability.
According to The Height Site the following 2004 cars have good headroom for the tall driver:
“6ft4 Tester’s Pick: Toyota Matrix
Some say it looks like a station wagon on steroids, but our shortest tester still loved it best—»
6ft5 Tester’s Pick: Honda Element
You’re either gonna love it or you’re gonna hate it because it definitely is a different looking vehicle—»
6ft7 Tester’s Pick: Toyota RAV4
Nimble, sure-footed, and based on the Camry chassis, the RAV4 is great for city driving—»
6ft11 Tester’s Pick: Nissan Murano
Nissan calls this a “crossover” vehicle because it’s an SUV built on the chasis of a sedan”
Also for 2005 they chose:
“6ft3 Tester’s Pick: Honda Accord Hybrid
Sost—»
6ft4 Tester’s Pick: Ford Escape
Our tester liked the gas-only model, but the Escape is also available in a hybrid version—»
6ft6 Tester’s Pick: Honda Civic Hybrid
This car had a lot of buzz last year and it seems that Honda has improved upon their hybrid technology since then. This car was swamped with people clamoring to check it out.—»
6ft11 Tester’s Pick: Jeep Liberty
Limited, Renegade, Sport and the Rocky Mountain Edition models are all available in 2WD & 4WD”
And this is a list of recommendations by drivers who are 6’ 6” tall.
Then this site lists some sportier choices.
