How do you get rid of scars?

Asked by lexipoorocks (146points) January 13th, 2010

I just want to know. When I was younger sometimes i would scratch them so I think that might be the problem. i NEED them to be gone really soon but I know this isnt something that will happen over night though! Please give me what I need and tell me how long it will take to work. And if you bought like a cream or something that really works tell me what it is because I dont mind just going to CVS or walgreens or whatever. Oh and remember please tell me how long it takes to work

It’s a scar, they don’t just go away, I have scars on me from the 8th grade…...I wouldn’t bother with the creams, but you can try. The best solution is time.

What is the scar from? Where us it at? Is it deep? Maderma is a good cream if it’s just a basic scar from a cut or something . Pimple scars are another story. Those just won’t go away with creams. Unfortunally I know.

I have scars on my face and i use Bioderma (the muave one) and i can tell you this. If you start using the cream right away it will fade even the ugliest scars in 6 months. If you start using it a long time after the scar is done it may take years for the cream to do something and may never work. I use the cream for 3 months now and my scars are in a much better condition. I suppose in three more months the scars will be almost gone

OK, are we talking raised scars? Or are we talking dark marks that are basically hyperpigmentation from picking at your zits until you wound them and the melanin comes zooming in as it heals?

Because the latter is what I have and fade creams are usually in a oil base, which will only give me more zits. :(

The only solution, and not always that, is to have a consult with a plastic surgeon.
