Do you feel like you have to "have your say" on fluther?

I have noticed that folks will ask questions and others will answer (that is the general drill here, right?), but I also notice that an answer will be provided and someone else types virtually the same thing right beneath it. Is it that folks don’t read the responses or they just feel like they need to voice an opinion or what?
This also seems to be a recent development. Sure there have always been times when someone didn’t read all 200 responses to something and posted a response similar to one already posted, but it seems like recently, there has been a penchant for some just to state the obvious (it is obvious because the answer is directly above the repetative comment). To what do you attribute this phenomenon?

If I don’t feel I can bring anything new to a thread, I’d rather not post. Looking over what’s already been posted just seems like the courteous thing to do.

An infinite number of monkeys typing at an infinite number of typewriters will eventually produce great works of literature, or maybe two monkeys will type the same phrase at the same time.
And then there are stupid monkeys who are whoring for inflated lurve.
just call it the way i see it and if is someone else’s answer also..that occasionally happens!
um… Huh? umm, something to say.
I forgot the question, but I had something to say, If only I could remember ; )
Sometimes, I am posting at the same time as someone else and the two answers turn out to be substantively the same.
If the thread is very long (>50 posts), but an issue I care about, I will post but make sure it is lengthy and detailed enough that I think it will include new and helpful information. Otherwise I will just go through and vote. It does get very irritating when people post something that has been said repeatedly, and recently. Maybe Fluther could introduce a feature to merge duplicate posts, such as “Posted by user A, seconded by user B”, or user B’s answer be transformed into a vote just to tidy things up a bit.
Great answer, @Harp. I feel exactly the same way. In addition, there are many questions that I simply don’t have the knowledge or context to answer, or that I feel aren’t worth my time. Nothing wrong with posting to MAKE a point, but no need to do it just to GET points.
Sometimes someone simply beats me to it, and I have already written three paragraphs. I post anyway out of spite.
See this question for the whole deal that was just discussed.
Many people are typing when answers directly ahead of them are posted. Would you rather they delete everything they’ve typed or post it anyway?
