I use gel for my hair, and i get tired of it being hard. but if i use hairspray, will it stick my hair up like using gel? Will hairspray make your hair hard?

Depends on the hairspray, as it depends on the gel. But I know some hairsprays do. I’m not an expert on the matter to any extent, but I believe a wax would allow you more ‘sculpting’, so to speak, without it being hard. Bit annoying to wash out, though.

I’m pretty sure hairspray will still make your hair hard or at least like all crispy. It all depends on the type, however….

oh, ok. Both of your answers are good. But do you know any types of hairspray that wont make it hard?

OKAY. I use Big Sexy Hair hairspray, and I love it. For most hairsprays you WILL get a crispy texture. This is the best hairspray I’ve ever used. It doesn’t have too strong a smell and it holds pretty decently. What type of style are you trying to do? I also use this stuff called sumotech by Bumble and Bumble and it’s awesome for good hold and having your hair go where you want it to. Mousse can make your hair bigger, but I don’t use too much [as much fun as it may seem to play with, don’t. The more you use, the weirder and basically nasty the texture will be]. It helps create a thickness with the hair and makes it stay where you want it to more. It doesn’t change texture up too much, just a bit thicker feel. I use Big Sexy Hair root pump mousse. Just work a bit into damp hair [not wet, it can make a strange texture] and blow dry.
Avoid Aqua Net. I’ve always remembered it to be the hairspray of hairsprays but it smells just awfullll.
But it really depends on the style you’re going for. Do you have an idea in mind?

Why not try clay? It doesn’t leave any residue and holds your hair in place without making it hard. Just add it in bit by bit.

Hairspray is probably going to be hard. Try using a water wax toward the roots, also I’ve heard good things about the new axe gel.

How did this question get by the “checkers” what does it mean and what good is it ??

You could ask that “I don’t want to go to rehab” singer>>>>I have her cd but can’t think of her hairsprayed name.

Amy Winehouse? She wears a beehive wig, I’m pretty certain. Otherwise, she probably does a lot of backcombing and hairspray. Backcombing and hairspray are key to big hair.
