After my first semester at George Mason University, I decided to work towards transferring to Virginia Tech. I plan on being there for the fall of 2010. After the first semester I got a 3.0 GPA with an A in french (six credits), and a C+ in the other classes (all 3 credits and they were gov 101, gov 132 and english 101. Next semester I am taking Math 105 at techs request along with English 201 at techs request. the other 3 classes are not at techs request, but there was only one other one they requested and it was a science but I couldn’t work it in. Do you think I will get in so I can transfer? Any advice?

Probably not since you can’t spell the word into.
Maybe…buy her a few drinks first and see what happens.
I need real advice. I really want this to work out.
I don’t think fluther is a good place to be asking this question. How many VTech people do you think there’ll be here? Rather, I think that going directly the Virginia Tech forums on collegeconfidential would give you a better shot at answering your question.
Why would you rather go to Tech than George Mason?
@chyna I actually know quite a few people with PhDs who make plenty of typos. Let’s not make that a determining factor.
I agree with @Saturated_Brain – I would check directly with the people at Virginia Tech. Is it possible to schedule an appointment with an adviser? I know George Mason is a bit of a ways from VT, but it might be worth it. If not, you could probably strike up an email correspondence with one and see if they can give you advice on getting into the school. Good luck!
Part of it will have to do with what major you select. There are some at Tech that are very competitive, others not so much.
Well, I already looked into it heavily and I am going to transfer if I get in. I just wanted everyone’s opinions. I don’t want to stay at Mason cause I don’t like it there. And my major at Tech would be Political Science. Also, from where I live, Mason is 3 hours and Tech is 4.
