What are the best podcasts?
I need to listen to something as I work. Long format radio programs work best, but I end up listening to the same couple of podcasts over and over—The Young Turks, This American Life and archived episodes of Loveline. What else is worth checking out?

The Bugle! Andy Saltzman and John Oliver (British Comedians) do commentary on world news. It is HILARIOUS.
Disclaimer: This was my sketch writing teacher a couple of years ago.
Kevin Allison, probably best known as “the red-headed gay” on the MTV 1990s comedy series “The State” has a series of storytelling podcasts called RISK! featuring his friends and other good storytellers. They’re “true tales, boldly told”, so the tagline says. I’ve seen a couple of live shows featuring a few of these yarnspinners, and I liked them very much, and I enjoyed the less famous ones more than the Janeane Garafalo types, as wonderful as I think she is.
You can download them on iTunes and Zune via the link.
Random Ass Radio has it’s moments. I feel they are just a hairsbreadth away from taking off.
I recommend The Drunk Tank.
Slightly video game focused, varies to random topics at times, always hilarious.
I really enjoy Stuff You Should Know. It’s a lot like This American Life, but hosted by casual folks.
Savage Love Podcast!! It’s Dan Savage being asked insane questions about sex and love and relationships. It can get really ridiculous, so keep that in mind if you’re at all grossed out by, well, anything sexual in nature. Maybe read a few of the descriptions before you listen to one. But if it’s up your alley, you’ll love it.
Oh, I love that guy. So funny.
abovetopsecret.com has very cool podcast about a lot of things mostly involving paranormal and conspiracy
