What does the beatitude: Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God mean?

I guess it means nobody’s going to see God.

It’s a “carrot” for believing in the religion.

As in “carrot/stick” for manipulating behavior.

A stick version of the saying would be cursed are the impure of heart for they will burn forever in hell.

The line is often misquoted. The actual quote (in several different English versions) is “Blessed are the pure in heart…”.
To me, to be pure in heart is to act honestly with no hidden agenda.
