Who for you are the greatest examples of a very public fall from grace? Was it fair & just or were they harshly treated in your opinion? Do you still hold them in high regard despite what may have happened?

So the question boils down to which public figures started with an impeccable reputation. I wonder if the nature of those who seek to be public figures makes that an unusual condition. cynical? Me? What?
Sorry all. It is Gandhi. He had lots of snuggling with very young girls and helped them to cleanse their bowels also. The myth has been sanitized, but his peccadillos should not detract from his very real qualities.
I’m fairly certain that if it weren’t for this, Ted Kennedy would have run for President and probably won.
