I believe that most people undergo major changes in the way they look at things. Some go from conservative to liberal or vice versa. Others are switching between religious/non-religious, self-centered/others centered, etc.
What big change in the way you see the world have you made most recently?

I was very involved in politics for a few years. Now, I have stopped following it completely. My former position was that if you are smart enough to understand what is truly going on, it is your inherent responsibility to do something about it. My current position is that nature has a way of righting itself, and that all the crap that is happening now must happen – like a flu virus must run its course – in order for humanity to evolve to the “next level of being”. No matter how hard I try, I am not going to “save the world”, rather it will save itself. I am a witness to a tiny fraction of the evolutionary process, and I should focus primarily on enjoying the opportunity. And it is in this way that I think we make our biggest contributions to the Earth – in doing what we truly love and excel at we push the bar slightly higher.
From moderate to more conservative in my views.
From being in the Bible Belt South to being at the center of the political world: Washington, DC.
I’ve very recently come to terms with being basically atheist. I didn’t want to admit it and refused to think about it for years before I finally sat down, read about it, thought about it, and realized that my fears had been right all along. The idea of God doesn’t make sense to me. It’s too bad. It would be very comforting to believe.
I have come to accept that most people prefer their own ignorance to the opportunity to learn and adapt even when they have nothing to lose by gaining a better understanding.
The reassurance they get from demeaning those who will not endorse their stubborn ignorance is more satisfying than giving up their delusions.
@fireinthepriory It’s a beautiful story isn’t it, much like Cinderella is a wonderful childhood fantasy.
I changed from active to less active lifestyle. I tend to change something in my life in order to adapt my life to certain situation.
From a believer to unbeliever of the water ape hypothesis.
I don’t know about most recent, but I became more passionate about the gay rights movement. I used to just not care much about it. I figured as long as we weren’t being arrested for it, who cares. I wasn’t even that interested in supporting gay marriage. I have become far more passionate about it and I know a lot of that has had to do with me getting a boyfriend. I used to say I would never die for a cause because it’s a stupid thing to do. This has become a cause I could die for, though it would have to be very extreme. I would certainly do anything in my power to protect my boyfriend or other gay people who are being harmed for it.
I became more agnostic over the years as well. I became more solidified in my views on abortion and euthanasia. I used to be wishy-washy and could never pick a “side”.
I became more fiscally conservative. All my views still label me as a left-leaning “moderate”, however, that hasn’t changed.
Last night: supine to prone.
@janbb: Always prone to beat me to the punch, I see?
From “Cats? Ugh.” to “MIlo, do you want a diamond collar and some caviar”?
From Supporting to opposing the health care proposal.
Too flawed, too many compromises.
I am becoming a vegetarian.
Losing half my face, then getting most of it back again in just a couple of weeks!
My most recent big shift was graduating. For the first time in, oh, fifteen years, I wasn’t in school, and was instead looking for a real job.
A lesser shift was from disliking country music to only disliking about half of the genre.
Congrats with the face, @majorrich!
I used to only despise hardcore, evangelical religious types.
I’ve added hardcore, evangelical atheists, liberals, and conservatives to the mix.
A few days before Christmas I became a vegetarian.
But, that isn’t really a change in position. If @Simone_De_Beauvoir hadn’t mentioned it, I wouldn’t have thought to say that. I think I’ve had the position for a long time, I’ve only recently gone on to implement it more thoroughly in my life.
first I had my feet up and was leaning back; now I am sitting up with my feet on the floor
