How can I get a promised raise in my salary realized in an actual letter?

Asked by skfinkel (13542points) February 29th, 2008

I learned I was getting an increase as of last January, but have not received a confirming letter. I have sent two “reminder” emails and also one to her assistant. Do I just sit tight and wait, or is there another way. We work on different coasts.

it depends on your relationship with the boss. If you are open and casual bringing it up every now and then is not a bad idea. I would not nag or make threats. Ask if the raise is retro active so maybe you’ll get a large make up check for the last two months.

What happened is a in my office secretary asked for clarification, and the third person technique worked! Thanks.
