What was the first Olympics in which black people were allowed to compete?

This is to help settle a dispute. Actually, what I’m really looking for is a list of all of the gold medalists in sprinting for all of the Olympics since blacks were allowed to compete (some of our history is humiliating, you know?)
It’s amazing how difficult it is to find some things on the net!

assuming you mean from the US….IN 1904, the first great moment in Black Olympic history emerged when George Poage became the first Black American to compete in the Summer Games. He not only competed, he became the first Black to win a medal, collecting a bronze medal after a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at the III Olympiad in St. Louis.

@Ruallreb8ters Thank you so much. How very, very interesting that blacks have been “allowed” to compete in the Olympics for all of this time, yet it was another 50 years before they could compete in pro sports.
I dunno. What was the first year we won?
