Well, the best messenger bags IMO are chrome bags (even though in the last few years they've become a little more mainstream. They're made in SF, i think the store is around 9th and brannan.
Do you have an idea of what you're looking for?
I have an enormous, original Timbuk2 bag, but I want something smaller for everyday, but that will also fit mylaptop, or my laptop sleeve. And all my other crap: camera, notebooks, etc. But unlike my timbuk2 bag, I don't need to carry a case of beer and handles.
Chrome has a small messenger bag which would suit you well. Let me find it...
Yeah, I'm familiar with that. They're still cool bags, despite becoming more mainstream. I think i'd need the citizen to fit my laptop. I've also looked at:
If you're looking for non-messengery really cool bags, check out flight101 in hayes valley.
On Hayes street there are a couple other stores that sell messenger bags, and one I also remember seeing in the upper fillmore.
The freitag are really nice. The nice thing about having the chrome store in SF is that you can try them on, customize it however you want, etc.
Another SF bag designer is Zo...they're all hand made and i think you might be able to see them at american cyclery
American Cyclery is in the haight, around haight and stanyan
maybe haight and frederick
I mean, stanyan and frederick
Anyone ever tried to make/sew their own bag? got patterns or advice?
There's a Timbuk2 store in Hayes Valley and you can also find great deals at The Sports Basement (2 locations - one in the Presidio and one near Potrero Hill).
