Anything hot helps. Try chicken soup! That has actual, proven, cold-fighting powers!

teabagging is great.

If you’re Jewish, try chicken soup.

If you’re English, have a nice ‘cuppa tea.” Any kind will do; if you have a sore throat, putting honey or sugar in will help soothe. It’s the hot and the liquid that are helpful.

seriously though honey does help in a sore throat. it feels so smooth, so you should swallow it slow.singers take some to smooth out their vocal chords i’ve heard.

You may try Masala chai.
Here’s another procedure.

Here in India, we add ginger (in small quantity) to tea when it’s boiling; it’s good for cold.
We do add some leaves (I dunno it in English) which makes a good tea, called “Gavati chaha”. And, also sometimes “Weldoda”.

Try the above procedure, it’s good, it’s all around in Pune city in India.

Lipton tea; boiled. Add honey, lemon and any brown liquor. Cut the lemons, include the skin. Cook to a low boil. This will loosen up the cold and possibly knock you out! I’ve actually uses Theraflu instead of the tea and it worked great!

Any kind of hot tea with lemon and honey helps, but my favorite remedy is Nyquil. A good night’s sleep does wonders for a cold.

@pdworkin: Chaver: ¿No es el dude Español?

I keep frozen, sliced ginger for tea when ill. But any hot drink will do. Sometimes a spoonful of rum helps the medicine go down.

Try celestial seasoning chamomile tea, or echinacea tea.

Half Earl Grey and half of another strong black tea.
Milk to taste.

I would recommend skipping the sugar, as the Earl Grey is flavoured with bergamot, and sugar is for people who don’t like tea, anyway.

Ginger tea or cinnamon tea for a queasy tummy.

We use Echnicea tea, it works best when you feel the onset of symptoms, but even taken after I have become infected it seems to reduce the amout of time the cold hangs out in my system.

The perticular brand that we like is: http://www.traditionalmedicinals.com/us_products

This is the Amazon link for the tea we buy: http://www.amazon.com/Traditional-Medicinals-Organic-Echnicea-16-Count/dp/B0009F3PLC/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&s=grocery&qid=1264307041&sr=8-18
