What does the "Q" stand for in John Q. Public?
You know John Q. Public. He’s the dude who lives at 123 Main St. in Anytown, USA. He’s married to Jane Q. Public. You know the chap. Anyway, I’ve searched online and I still can’t find out what his middle name really is, but I’m guessing some of you know.
And then there’s Jesus H. Christ…

Question… because nobody knows.
I have always resided in the Quincy camp myself. FYI, Jane’s middle name is Quendolin.
(I don’t actually know this, you understand. When in doubt, I often allow wishful thinking to guide my responses. It seems as good an authority as any.)
Quasimoto.
Most John Q. Publics are uggos.
I always favored Quadrotriticale as his middle name.
Maybe he doesn’t have a middle name. Maybe it’s just “Q.” John Q. Public is such a mysterious character.
Funny thing.. the H in Jesus H. Christ is put in to be an insult, saying that Christ is a surname rather than a title.
@Ruallreb8ters According to the book “Shut up and eat your snowshoes” by Jack Douglas, the H in Jesus H. Christ stands for Hasimoto.
Quiet. He’s an unassuming, none-volatile resident who crosses every t and dots every i. He doesn’t stand out, he doesn’t cut in line, he just an average joe doing his thing.
Quixotic: the one thing he always wanted to be when he finally gets his shit together and moves off Anystreet. It’s a statement of aspiration.
Querent John Q. Public loves Fluther I wonder what his username is? Is he married I wonder? And I would like to know what is wife’s name is, anyone know?
@Adagio he’s married to Jane D. Public, formally Jane Doe
