Have you ever done something irrational or just plain stupid out of anger?

The other day I was super angry and decided to delete my Fluther account. (Stupid I know) So it made me think. What stupid things has anger made you do? Looking back on it now how does it make you feel?

Punch things so hard my knuckles break.
I have cracks in both of my hand that will never fully heal.
Not out of anger, but I stayed in the same fucked up relationship longer than I should have.
That’s pretty stupid.
Most irrational and stupid things I do are out of anger.
When I’m calm and focussed, I tend to know better.
What have I done?
• Driven like a loon
• Screamed wildly
• Broken things
• Scared the hell out of my family
They are never my proudest moments. As I age they are less and less frequent. I’m not sure if it’s due to experience or apathy.
When I was in my 20’s – Hell yea. Pretty much every day. !
I’ve punched doors occasionally, thrown stuff round the room, had a strop!
Now though, a wee bit older and wiser. I still get angry but can handle it much better!
I threw a knife at one of my favourite paintings once and it sliced straight through it and stuck in the wall… it was a great shot…luckily you can’t really see the damage until you get really close! :-/
I certainly have and I’d tell you but I can’t give all my good ideas away ;)
Yes, but it was a very long time ago. I grew up watching my father have irrational fits of anger. Yelling and screaming and red in the face in public.
It quickly got me out of the desire to act out in anger.
The other day whenever I was walking into my kitchen I kept banging my elbow off the handle. I don’t know why that kept happening but it did. So the last time it happened it really, really hurt and I decided that it was definitely the doors fault and it must be punished. So I kicked it as hard as I could, ended up hurting my foot and I felt quite, quite stupid
Like @Shield_of_Achilles I punch things. Several broken bones in my right hand to show for it. I also take out anger on chunks of firewood or metal targets with firearms (always in a safe setting). Since I avoid other people when angry, I’ve only committed acts of violence against people in self-defense or under orders. I may be dangerous to myself at times, but never to others.
Yes and certainly beats a $120.00 therapy bill!! Gooose Fraaaaa Baaaaah!!
Punched a wall. I had some gnarly looking knuckles on my right hand for awhile.
When I was in my early 20’s, one night at the bar I was highly inebriated and I was pissed off at my boyfriend. I started to flirt with some other dude and we ended up making out in his car. Tack-ay and stupid.
I was angry with one of my kids at the bus stop one day. After the bus pulled off, I threw the car into reverse and slammed my foot on the gas. I hit a woman parked behind me really hard. She was there for the next bus and I never knew she was back there. I could have killed someone! I have kept my temper on a tight leash since then.
Yes I have and I’m not inclined to list all the details here but suffice it to say, the anger management issues and episodes are now mostly in my past and are there to stay. I still have bad days when anger rears its ugly head but now I have several productive outlets that I use to work off that anger instead of doing something embarrassing or injurious to myself.
I broke a very special plate that my grandma gave me for Christmas, and I have permanently messed up my hand. I have anger issues that have been passed down from my father, but getting older has really calmed me down and I constantly have to work on it.
Years ago I hacked up part of kitchen counter top with a large butcher knife, that was rage. In more recent years I got angry at unwanted houseguests who insisted on putting dirty glassware into the sink instead of beside the sink (washing up after themselves was too much to hope for). I picked up glass in the sink and let it fall back in, breaking each one and then snarled, “you dirty pigs will have to find something else to drink out of.”
