I have a ton of fonts and am getting low on disk space. I already have them all backed up on my external, can I access them from a CD or external drive when needed? Or do they have to be in the main hardrive folder to work properly?

I’ve read that if a font resides in a location other than the fonts folder or system folder, the path to the font has to be stored in the registry.
Download them to any location, unzip, then right click on the font file and choose “install”. Done.
Thanks for your response. JOE – My problem isnt knowing how to install them it’s that I feel like I have too many installed and it’s slowing down my computer. I’m just trying to see if there is another solution to storing them.
Suitcase Fusion allows storing fonts outside the font folder. It also lets you turn off single fonts or sets, giving shorter and more manageable font menus in your other applications.
A free trial and documentation are available for download. from the publisher, Extensis.
Thank you jaytkay i’ll have to check that out!
