Another food question. Doctoring up some tomato soup, what should I add?

I’ve been pretty much housebound for over three weeks due to a nasty bacterial infection. I’ll be heading back to work tomorrow.
I hot bowl of tomato soup sounds lovely.

Nice, fresh basil is a great idea.

I usually add rice and shredded cheddar cheese.
some minced celery and carrots
rice or gold fish crackers
Lea and Perrins – Worcestershire Sauce…
A grilled cheese sandwich.
Basil, parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese Goldfish

I ended up adding some cooked rice and a bit of creole seasoning (for some heat). Very tasty.
2 cloves of garlic, 1 cup of heavy cream, ½ stick of butter, pinch of thyme and basil, salt, crushed red pepper, 1 cup of vodka, simmer for 35 minutes pour over pound of cooked linguine and steamed mussles… have a glass of Chardonnay and enjoy.
A small dash of hot sauce, sour cream and some chives.
I put in lettuce, broccoli and other greens (zucchini, beans) that I might have. Also delicious are bean sprouts and bean threads. Also a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Feel better!
gosh tomato soup is soooo good. Personally I like Wolfgang Puck’s Creamy Tomato Soup! Ahhh so fresh…oh man Stop & Shop here I come
my brother makes it by roasting the tomatos lighlty before blending them with a touch of cream and basil. then lays thin slices of parmesan cheese that start melting on top of the soup.
@jmah ; Saute some onions, cool and then add herbs and chop up small- add to soup be right over to make tea, rub your back and feet and draw a bubble bath leaving other parts for @Simone_De_Beauvoir to take care of and speed recovery! lol
A few dollps of sour cream and sprinkling of chives, maybe? If it works for tomato-based gaspacho, why not?
Grilled onions, garlic, a tablespoon or more of mint flakes.
