Possibly NSFW question regarding male genitalia?
Dunno how to put this delicately so here we go…
Why do balls sometimes hang low and dangly but other times high and tight. I know that it can be affected by temperature. But that can’t be the only factor because testicular status can vary even when temperature does not.

There are many reasons, but rather than attempt to list them all i’ll just add one to ‘temperature’. And that would be “stress”. Hormone levels from the brain in different situational contexts do have an effect on this, although it is not as immediate as temperature.
All I know is during arousal the testes come upwards, I think to maybe get ready to unload a stream of tadpole babies lol…..I know…technical right?
When I get aroused my nuts bunch up in a tight compact deal, but otherwise they always hang down.
Sometimes it’s protective (adrenaline response) sometimes it has to do with conserving heat energy (pool shrinkage) sometimes it’s sexual arousal.
Do your balls hang low?
Can you swing them to & fro?
Can you tie em in a knot?
Can you tie em in a bow?
Do you ever get the feeling?
When they hit against the ceiling?
That you’ll never be a sailor
If your balls hang low?
That’s right they kinda do don’t they!
I’ve always wondered that too. I’ve definitely noticed the temperature thing (and the arousal thing), but other than that, I’m not sure.
:P
I would agree with temperature (when it gets really cold the under-carraige retracts!) and arousal. I also know that there are certain sex aids which try to stop the balls rising as the point of no return is reached. If you can stop them rising then ejaculation is delayed. It is also worth pointing out that most men have one ball which hangs lower than the other.
Swimming in cold water usually shrinks and tightens everything.
Depending on how my balls hang.
Will determine what horse to bet on.
You guys have pretty much covered it. Temperature regulation is a big factor – always trying to keep them at an optimal temperature for sperm production, not too hot, not too cold. Arousal also plays a part because the cremaster muscle (the one that lifts the testes) contracts when the PC muscles contract, which is especially prominent just before and during ejaculation.
