I like music in general but some types of music just have that “plus” which makes me feel good.
For myself the music of the Hammered Dulcimer is very relaxing – and here is a link if you don’t know what a hammered dulcimer is:-

What music “does it for you”?

besides too many specific classical favourites to name, Bonobo.
70’s and 80’s soft rock, Enya
Ambient and chill out/lounge music.
Classical, usually late romantic period and baroque. Enya, Renaissance, Constance Demby, Brian Eno, Kitaro, Vangelis (the whole Space Music crowd).
New age music makes me feel very relaxed. That includes Enya, Vangelis, Celtic Woman, etc. Love all that.
And of course, there is much classical music that makes me feel relaxed: impressionistic music like Debussy, Satie, and Ravel especially.
(That Zero 7 song is a good baby making song, as well).
Dry the Rain by The Beta Band
Red House by Jimi Hendrix
Catch a Falling Star by Block (or Perry Como)
Amber by 311

What lovely music lovers you all are :-). Thanks to all, and I must look up some things I’ve never heard of before.
All classical(proved to relax) and smooth jazz.
yeah and there are some good internet radio stations out there.
choose smooth jazz or chillout or ambient, and your bound to get something good.
I’m not that “into” modern relaxing music, so when I want some, the internet radio is very useful.
Enya, Korpiklanni, Tiësto,Vavaldi, Beethoveen, Bach
Choral music (like old, sacred religious music chanted by monks) and chill.
@The idler. – yes, I love internet radio on my I pod Touch
I am unsure if you would call it music however I listen to Bamboo Wind Chimes on a loop and sometimes a ShiShi Odoshi or Tibetan Bowl. I have sleeping problems so these help me relax and drift off.
If I am looking for music to listen to on a long drive or while stuck in traffic I throw on Karate or Mogwai or maybe something remixed by Bill Laswell or Amon Tobin.
Relaxing is golden.
Breathe by Pink Floyd does it good for me…but for super serene listening nothing…I mean nothing beats Echos radio

@shego I second that!! :) Very relaxing choices.
I sometimes like to listen to BBC3 or Radio New Zealand Concert on webcast. Their classical selections are superb.
this mongolian overtone singer, Enkh Jargal. i find it very relaxing, and even a little sad. it brings up all kinds of images for me.
a warriors funeral, rolling hills and all kinds of things. enjoy.
classical, ambient, dubstep, disco. lol. then again the more i think about it, any music that isnt screaming pretty much does it.
Depends on what kind of mood I’m in.
I like to sing when I’m kind of bummed, it clears my mind, The Corries usually help me out because I know the words to a lot of their songs.
I like to just zone out to MGMT and Neon Indian.
Sigur Ros is nice to just kind of close your eyes to.
i enjoy some acoustic guitar folk music…iron and wine is a great choice!
@deni Yerse, the monotonous cliché drone of dubstep surely would send me to sleep, if it didnt make me feel so disgusted.
i’m talking about pop-dubstep btw, i know there is some creative and interesting stuff out there
Kings Of Leon’s new album. Thier older stuff is a little too sappy for me
Jazz and soft rock usually work best for me when I really want to mellow out.
I always find this song very relaxing and this one.
