Lately, because I’ve been home sick – too damn much.

janbb's avatar

I’m almost always in fluther, unless I’m in flight.

eponymoushipster's avatar

more than i should.

In my alone time when not watching movies or running errands and sometimes from work when I can sneak on the internet. Some people unwind with video games and me, I unwind and distract by goofing with friends in an online arena.

I spend far too much time on Fluther. Sometimes 8–10 hours a day. It’s my only real contact with humanity. So many wonderful jellies have given me encouragement and inspiration about my grief and depression. Thank you all so very much.

Michael_Huntington's avatar

half of my day is spent on fluther. It’s not that I’m a fanatic of this site (nor do I hate it), but I just don’t want to do my homework,

Facade's avatar

Many many hours. I never thought I had an addictive personality, but I guess I kind of do… :/

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

@jmah I’m good at foot rubs if that will help you feel better

marinelife's avatar

Several hours a day.

fireinthepriory's avatar

I fluther on about 70% of days. I usually come on while at work during my downtime, while looking up papers or while waiting for a meeting… a few 10-minute chunks. Then after dinner if I don’t have any meetings or things to do I’ll do a more solid sit-down-and-fluther for a few hours. Sometimes I watch videos and fluther at the same time. :)

janbb's avatar

@fireinthepriory That’s pretty much my pattern, too.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

I fluther at work a lot – this gives me a needed break from all the horrendous stories of hardship I hear from my cancer patients. I fluther sometimes when I get home from work. So about 2–3 hours per day.

when I’m not with patients or my fiancee… you can find me here.

I spend a lot of time on Fluther, but I don’t have any set hours. When I have a few free minutes at work, I’ll check in to see what’s going on. At home, I often watch TV, read, or do other household stuff and Fluther at the same time. All told, it’s probably a combined 4–5 hours, but spread out.

stump's avatar

I have it on my computer most of the day at work. Every once in a while I check to see if there are any interesting questions.

RAWRxRandy's avatar

yah..about 1–2 hours in all, but not consecutively,

aprilsimnel's avatar

I’m here daily off and on for a max of 2 hours.

Dr_Lawrence's avatar

I am here most days and spend 3 to 5 hours. I do some PM-ing to support people about whom I am concerned.

Jude's avatar

oops..

Tenpinmaster's avatar

As much as possible. Some days are better then others in terms of good quesions, or questions that I can answer. I would say about 2 hours a day minimum. My girl got me booked on this thing!!!

sweetteaindahouse's avatar

I started out going for a few minutes each day just to see my questions; lately I have gotten really involved and spend sometimes over an hour each day. It all depends on how I’m feeling and if the questions are good.

nebule's avatar

a lot lately but this will not be so for much longer as my new philosophy course begins on Saturday and I should have already started reading for it but… I’ve been a’ Fluthering!

@Doctor_D
I don’t know but you might try an English class in between.

Jude's avatar

@SeventhSense English isn’t her first language.

SeventhSense's avatar

@jmah
quite a befitting albeit snarky comment then :)

Your_Majesty's avatar

@SeventhSense
jmah is right. In fact,it’s my fourth language after Indonesian,Chinese,and Mandarin. I do learned English and I don’t know why you said that but I know there’s no policy in this site that forbid me from using my own way in English. “Language is the matter of freedom” as long as it’s understandable.

SeventhSense's avatar

@Doctor_D
No offense. Four languages is quite impressive and certainly more expansive than my own but it will elicit a certain reception whether you are aware of it or not. It’s in the tenses and syntax.

I probably spend maybe 2–3 hours a week here. Mostly at work and weeknight evenings. Often I feel that even this 2–3 hours is far too much.

Your_Majesty's avatar

@SeventhSense I see. OK thanks for your correction,but still discrimination is unacceptable.

SeventhSense's avatar

@forestGeek
I can never go on here without spending 2–3 hours at a clip. I spend 8 hours some times. Don’t judge me man! I can quit whenever I want!
but if I’m busy I’ll avoid it for days, even weeks

forestGeek's avatar

@SeventhSense – Oh no, definitely would not judge anyone on this. Some weeks I know I spend more than 2–3 hours here. I spend much of my online time other places as well, so it all adds up to that “far too much”. Admittedly when I’ve wasted time on sites like Facebook or mySpace, I wish I had spent some of that time here instead as it feel more productive and just better.

SeventhSense's avatar

@forestGeek
I’m just playin…but I actually think it’s good karma sometimes when I can offer some help or insight and it definitely increases my analytic reasoning capacities especially when I can construct an essay for 30–40 minutes. Those are gratifying.

@janbb
In regards to this
you know you can’t fly silly

Bluefreedom's avatar

I visit Fluther quite a lot during the week although I don’t have a number to put toward how much of my time is actually spent here. That’s not really important though because all my time spent on Fluther is quality time and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Fred931's avatar

Usually about an hour or two a day, depending on how much free time I have. A couple days ago, I spent 3 or 4 hours, and another, I didn’t even have a chance to visit.

janbb's avatar

@SeventhSense You mean that thing where I jump off the cliff and land in the water isn’t flying? My Dad told me it was.

life_after_2012's avatar

Since i joined i’ve spent atleast an hour or two a day on fluther.

anguilla's avatar

About 5 minutes a day. No more, because I want to see unanswered questions—and there are very few of those to try to answer.

filmfann's avatar

About an hour a day, though my wife says it’s closer to 3 hours.

Trance24's avatar

At least once a day I check it out. Unless of course homework takes over (even then I have to take a peak x_x).

YARNLADY's avatar

@anguilla Go to the home page and click on the orphan tab. The unanswered questions are there.
I am on Fluther off and on from 2 pm until 3 am. every day. I do my household tasks between typing entries here, and looking at other sites I participate in.

anguilla's avatar

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I tried that. There are very few orphans with current dates. Most orphans are old. To be honest, I’m growing less and less interested in Fluther due to that issue and its obsession with cuteness. I really hate the practice of being notified of questions Fluther thinks I want to answer. And I don’t like the dumb little messages right below my name at the upper right of each page. I may not be here much longer.

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

Once I return to the academic treadmill, I’ll check in daily with my friends here. This is a marvelously stimulating community.

YARNLADY's avatar

@anguilla I also find the “lighten up” factor to be a little too heavily applied, but there are enough good features to keep me happy and busy every day.

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

I like the greater structure and active, caring moderation. On other sites, I had to constantly watch my back and be ready to return fire from random trolls and self-appointed “experts” who were actually peddling an agenda.

Coloma's avatar

I just joined 3 days ago..so quite a bit as I am still recovering from my overseas trip return last week.
Imagine it will go the way of facebook…a surge of novelty then a dilution of interest. lol

It is an interesting & informative place though.

nebule's avatar

@Coloma don’t be so sure about that…;-)
