I accidentally froze a container of hummus. Will it thaw?

Asked by buckyboy28 (4961points) January 28th, 2010

I had a container of hummus too close to the freezer part of my fridge, and now it is frozen solid. If I leave it out, will it thaw, or is it ruined?

It will thaw; will it be edible? Since the ingredients are safe, simply taste it.

If it gets warm enough.

Let it thaw in the fridge – it’s safer that way – unless you are going to eat it all right away. I used to make a big batch and freeze it all the time. The texture gets a little course – you can ad a little olive oil to smooth it back out.

@JJOUTLAW96 you seem to like using all caps. I haven’t reported you yet but if you keep it up I might. Like I said before, it’s like yelling in cyberspace. Nobody likes getting yelled at. Please?

Everything thaws.

Except my ex wife’s heart.

I don’t have an ex-wife, much less a wife, but it is funnier in the first person.

No, it will remain frozen for all time.
