What's the best drama film you've ever seen?

Asked by Christian95 (3263points) January 31st, 2010

It shouldn’t be rated R or something stronger because I’m gonna watch this with my friends and we’re all under 17.

To Kill a Mockingbird may not be the best, but it’s way up there in my book. It would be a great film to watch with your friends.

@janbb Great film for any teenager to watch.

The Girl With the Pearl Earring is great. An amazing thing about the movie that often gets missed is that every time you stop the film, you get a visual that is the equivalent of a masterpiece painting. The story is wonderful, the visuals moreso.

@janbb Is there a new version of that movie or are you talking about the one with Gregory Peck? I’ve never seen it, but would like to.

janbb's avatar

Oh – the Gregory Peck one. I would die if they made a remake of it!

There was an amazing movie I saw called “Un Buen Hombre”... but it’s only shown in Spain so that wouldn’t work out so well. ____

All under 17? Try Clueless, Ferris Buellar’s Day Off (there’s profanity, though), Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice (the original/best with Colin Firth).

Flight of the Phoenix- The original (Jimmy Stewart) version.

Pride and Prejudice, To Kill a Mockingbird, as already mentioned, The Diving Bell & The Butterfly is an incredible film, but you’ll have to check the age out. I’m not entirely sure if it’s suitable

Just three… otherwise it cannot be some of the best.

OK… since you’re pushing me three more, then…
check out ”Chocolat”, ”Das Leben der Anderen” and ”Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Potain

Also check IMDB’s list that should definitely give some clues.

Shawshank Redemption. Great movie

I must say the rated R cap makes this very difficult!
